Name: Felicity Doubleday
Inspiration: Contrast history with contemporary to create something innovative.
What was your first fashion memory?: Drawing costume design whilst watching Singing in the Rain with my Nan and Granddad when I was 7.
Who would you most like to dress?: I would love to see my menswear on Johnny Depp. My womenswear on a combination of Dita Von teese, Taylor Momsen and Ewen Stefani.
Sum up your style in 3 words: Raw, Vintage, Futuristic.
Biography: The history of warfare and martial arts has always been a massive inspiration to me which has led to exploring into vintage looks with close attention to the silhouettes and detailing of the 1930s-40s era. I take great enjoyment from designing each collection or one-off piece researching a deeper meaning from a concept which usually juxtaposes a historic image against a contemporary inspiration, including architecture and fantastical concepts great appreciated in Japanese comics..
Furthermore, the 'throwaway' society in which we live and how easily nowadays our everyday items are discarded and replaced for something new, a sentimental connection to a special piece of clothing or accessory and story behind it's journey is of much importance to me. These ideas overall encompass my hope in designing creations which may appear raw but result in something beautiful.
